Mine fly's great, I have had a few problems , pipe failed 21 flights, nose gear strut has failed ( won't stay up on takeoff ) causes negative angle of attack . No problems with the gear or doors.

Default Viper 2.0 refurb

Hi all. I have been out of the sport for several years and a buddy got me back into it. He also gave me this airframe. It is pretty beat up and needs some tlc. I need some parts and the factory won’t talk to me without a serial number. I can’t find a serial number anywhere. Where is this serial number located?
Regards
Jeff

Wish I could help more. My memory seems to think there were stamps on the wings, or some formers inside the fuse. But those could have been inspection stamps too?

This airframe has the number 73 written on a piece of tape and is on every piece. I am told that this is not the serial number. Kinda frustrating 🤷🏻‍♂️

A note I just received from Banana Hobby about Viper 2.0 parts…

Regrettably, the mold for 2.0 G1 has been damaged, making it impossible for Pilot-RC to manufacture its parts.

How do we know if we have a G1, or not?

This circuit board with leads came with the new 2m viper. Haven't found how to connect the two leads coming from it. One labeled (light) and the other (gr to). The two pin connector is labeled (led) which is connected to one of three leads going to the front. The other two are labeled (gear door) and (gear light).

I think that is for landing lights. One lead goes to your LED light controller, the other goes to your retract controller/receiver. So it knows to turn the light on/off depending on the gear position. The 2 prongs are for the LED

That sounds right. The other problem is the the two pin connector was connected to a lead that wasn't labeled. The other two lead cable is labeled gear light. The two leads are the light and gear motor. Not sure what it will take to see exactly where each wire goes. It I hook it up wrong light and gear motor will that cause a problem?

I was able to trace the wires. The board was connected to the nose gear light. The other wire labeled gear light is the retract motor.
